On this Independence Day weekend, we remember that when the founders proclaimed freedom in 1776, they appealed to "the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God"—a humble reminder that true liberty rests not on human strength alone but on the sustaining hand of Providence. Let us trust God (Proverbs 3:5), pursue justice, and love our neighbor as we celebrate freedom.

Becky Mentzer shared a personal story during Time With Children about being (very literally) on stormy seas, and the peace of knowing God was with her was a comfort. What a great modern spin on our sermon text of Jesus and the disciples in a boat during a storm!
