The Community Impact Unit has been actively engaged throughout the community, participating in various events and visits. Officer Wilson and CRD Annie have also begun their Friendly Finds scent-tracking training, which focuses on locating lost individuals. Annie is currently awaiting the opportunity to take her first certification test once a few younger training participants are old enough, and she is well prepared.

Officer Wilson and Officer Annie have been busy out in the community, making visits and meeting new people! Officer Annie continues to grow and thrive, showing great progress in her training. She will begin scent-tracking training for lost individuals next Tuesday and is expected to take her first test in just 2–3 weeks.
We also invite you to join Animal Control Officer DiCenzo, along with the Community Impact Unit, for a Valentine’s Dog Cookie Decorating Event on February 7th. It’s sure to be a fun and paws-itively sweet event for all!

Storm Update: January 26, 2026
As we enter into the evening, snow is continuing to fall across North Andover and the surrounding area. Additional accumulation is anticipated through this evening, with several more inches possible. Some roadways remain slippery as crews continue to work to treat and clear streets. As a reminder, do not snow-blow or shovel snow Into the roadway.
The snow emergency parking ban has been extended until 8am on Wednesday, January 28, 2026. Violators will be ticketed.
Non-essential Town employees will be working remotely on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. Non-Essential Town buildings will be closed to the public on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. Staff Directory: https://www.northandoverma.gov/directory.aspx
Residents are encouraged to limit travel when possible and use extra care if driving is necessary. Please continue to give plow operators plenty of space and avoid passing or following too closely so they can safely do their work.
The North Andover Fire Department is asking residents to help by clearing snow away from nearby fire hydrants to ensure they are accessible in the event of an emergency.

The Select Board meeting will be held virtually tonight at 7pm, there will be no in person attendance. Members of the public who wish to watch the meeting may do so by tuning in to Comcast Channel 8 or Verizon Channel 26 or online at northandovercam.org.

Happy and healthy wishes for 2026!
Officers Wilson and Annie stayed busy throughout the holidays, participating in a variety of events and community visits. Officer Annie enjoyed meeting many new friends and is excited to continue her training as she prepares for her first test next month.

Last week, Officers Annie and Wilson participated in Cram a Cruiser, the Gingerbread House Walk-Through, the Special Olympics Sports Medaling event, the Winter Whirl Pancake Dinner at the Franklin School, and Annie’s official Meet and Greet at the Senior Center.
Annie is progressing very well in her training, with only a few hiccups, and is expected to take her first test in the coming months. Annie also unveiled her very first trading card this week.

Officer Annie will also have her first card available at all events. We hope to see you there.

Officer Annie and Officer Wilson had a very full week between community events and celebrating Thanksgiving with family. Officer Annie participated in her first Santa Parade, riding alongside Elf Toni and Officer Wilson as they greeted residents along the route. During the Town Tree Lighting, she also checked in with Santa to ensure she was on the “nice” list and enjoyed meeting many families and making new friends.
Reminder: Officer Annie’s Meet & Greet will take place at the Senior Center on Sunday, December 7th, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Officer Annie and the Community Impact Unit will be accepting non-perishable food donations for a local food bank.
Officer Annie’s first trading card will also be available at the event! 🎉

Officers Annie and Wilson had a busy and productive week filled with visits, training sessions, and community events. Annie continues to make excellent progress in her training and is growing more each day.
Last week’s stops included visits to her friends at the Senior Center, cheering on participants at the Special Olympics medal ceremony, supporting a YMCA food drive, helping deliver Thanksgiving meals, and ending the week with a visit to her friend Savannah and her mom.
Don’t forget—Annie’s Meet and Greet will take place on December 7th from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the North Andover Senior Center. She will also be collecting non-perishable food items for a local pantry.
