The numbers are clear: Federal funding is the backbone of domestic violence services in the United States. Without it, shelters and programs would be forced to close their doors, and survivors and their children would be left with nowhere to go — except back to an abuser.

In our most recent , NNEDV asked participating programs what would happen if their federal funding was reduced by 50% more. While this question was hypothetical, ongoing federal funding delays across the country are very real. Survivors, advocates, and programs deserve better.
