The Perkasie Historical Society made national headlines in 1958 when it rescued Bucks County’s oldest covered bridge from demolition and moved to Lenape Park.
The flood waters of Hurricane Ida attempted to wash away this 30-ton, 93-foot long, covered bridge built in the year 1832 when it was pushed off its abutments by the overflowing East Branch of the Perkiomen Creek.
Ambrose Rigging has begun the rigging efforts to safely salvage this historic bridge and set back onto stable ground.
