POCUS Pointer
Okay, time to nerd out.
These first images in our POCUS Pointer series, a normal suprapatellar knee with the quadriceps tendon insertion into the patella, show an important finding in musculoskeletal (MSK) POCUS. Anisotropy, delineated by the area outlined in yellow, is an artifactual hypoechoic region of a fibrillar structure like a tendon. Identifying this can be challenging. That’s where we come in! The POCUS Preceptor will help you gain confidence in MSK POCUS so that you can easily differentiate this image from pathology, like a tendon rupture.
