Tomorrow, Tom Beusse will tee it up for his second Golf Fights Cancer Golf Marathon, more than 20 years after completing his first 100-hole challenge in 2005. 💚⛳

This year, Tom is dedicating his Golf Marathon to the memory of his beloved sister, Patti, who passed away from cancer in 2016.

"I am partnering with Red Door Community in this year's GFC Golf Marathon for my 'Big Sister,' Patti, and for her husband, children, and all of us who have ever felt the brutality of cancer. I am doing it in the hope that greater awareness will result in more funding and research in the fight for a cure, and to support the critical assistance and support that Door Community provides to cancer patients and their families at their time of need."

After two decades away from the event, Tom is once again proving that the Golf Marathon is about much more than golf. It's about honoring loved ones, supporting families facing cancer, and turning personal loss into meaningful impact.

Meet first-time Golf Marathoner Mia Lombardi 💚⛳

As a competitive high school golfer and member of the Trinity College Women’s Golf Team, Mia has found that golf has become a source of purpose, strength, and community in her life. This year, she’s using that passion to make a difference through her first Golf Fights Cancer Golf Marathon.

Mia is participating in honor of her brother, Dominic, who was diagnosed with leukemia in 2016 as a freshman in high school. Nearly 10 years later, Dominic continues to face the long-term effects of cancer treatment, inspiring Mia every day with his strength, resilience, and determination.

Having witnessed the impact of cancer firsthand, Mia is turning her love of golf into action, raising funds to support families facing the challenges of a cancer diagnosis.

We are one week away from Christine Brainard's first GFC Golf Marathon⛳

Christine is taking on her first-ever 100-hole day as part of Team Cancer Sucks, a family team founded by her brother, Tim, that has grown over the past four years to include Christine, her husband, Doug, her cousin and his wife, and a close family friend. Because, unfortunately, cancer impacts us all!

Christine is participating in memory of her beloved mother, Carol, who passed away from liver cancer in 2023. Honoring her memory and carrying forward the compassion she showed others has become a powerful motivation for Christine’s Golf Marathon journey.

Together, Team Cancer Sucks is raising funds for Marisa's Mission to help ensure that families facing cancer don’t have to worry about financial hardship while navigating one of the most difficult times in their lives.

By playing 100 holes in one day, Christine is turning love, loss, and gratitude into action, helping provide hope, relief, and support to families who need it most.

Please join us in supporting Christine’s first Golf Marathon campaign. To learn more and donate, visit https://secure.qgiv.com/event/negolfmarathon/account/2329317/💚

Eight Golf Marathons. One incredible mission. ⛳💚

Returning for their 8th year, Bill McHugh and his fundraising partner and caddie, his son Will, continue to embody what it means to be part of the GFC Family. Inspired years ago by young marathoner Ryan McGuire, Bill has turned their love of golf into a powerful way to give back to families facing cancer.

Together, they’ve raised more than $120,000 through the Golf Marathon and continue to inspire their community through generosity, compassion, and purpose.

“As ambassadors for GFC, our family is able to use our passion to give to others what has been given to us in so many ways.”

Support Bill & Will as they take on another 100 holes to make a difference for patients and families affected by cancer.
