Monday, May 27, 2019, today marks the observance of Memorial Day in the United States. Today we honor the brave souls who have fought and died to protect this nation, Being May, it is also mental health awareness, and it is time to acknowledge that some veterans are still fighting a war even though they returned home.

In the United States today, an average of 16 veterans and former service members lose their lives to su***de. We also know that on an average, another 4 active duty personnel or reservists are also lost, bringing that number to 20 souls every day losing an unseen and lonely battle within.

It does not have to be a federal holiday to honor those who served, and you don’t have to be a mental health professional to make a difference in their lives. Share this post, raise awareness, and save a life!
