Personal post alert 🚨
In the year since I’ve been posting here, a lot of Life has happened.
Mainly, I lost my dad. I took it really hard and doing anything other than try to sleep, eat, and drink enough water was out of the question for a while.
The year also brought:
🦵my second knee surgery and full recovery
🙏 a five-month leave from work to focus on my wellbeing
🤓 a new role at work when I returned
🦴a puppy
💍 a girlfriend-to-fiancée upgrade
Now, life is finally settling and I’ve been following the creative itch again. It’s never too late to start and restart again.
My perfectionism kept me from getting active here again because the longer it had been, the more I felt like I had to come back “bigger and better” than ever. But that’s a lie we tell ourselves when we’re anxious, intimidated, or otherwise facing negative feelings and uncertainty.
So I decided to just start again. If this resonates with you, know that it’s ok for life to take you elsewhere for a while. It’s ok to rest and heal however you see fit. It’s ok to not adhere to the rigid Social Media Rules of how many posts you should be creating, how many accounts to connect with, etc.
You do you, my friend! 🤗

HOW A SHIRT HAPPENS >>
1. Whiteboard sketch. My whiteboard is my most-used tool for my shop. I like to quickly get my ideas out and work with them in a low-stakes way.
2. Digital drawing. I take a photo of my sketch and use it as a reference image in Procreate on my iPad. This is where I work out the details (like angling every teeny lil pumpkin 😆).
3. Shirt! I order a sample from my printer with my drawing on it. I can control the placement and size of my drawing to make sure it looks just right.
