“3 Small Bedroom Ideas to Steal from Hotels” in the current issue of Sunset Magazine features two of our guest room designs that create spaciousness through intentional design. For Lido House in Newport Beach, we extended the typical nightstand into a floor-to-ceiling storage surround that draws the eye upward, creating a sense of height and spaciousness within the hotel’s coastal-home motif. And at the newly opened Appellation Healdsburg, the custom combination sofa and storage piece is a beautiful, hardworking expression of California craft, part of the heart of the new culinary-first resort.

A comfortable guest space doesn’t always mean more room; it simply needs a thoughtful approach.

At EDG, every brand begins with a story—and every story begins with place.

For Appellation Healdsburg, we crafted the graphic design and identity system inspired by the olive trees that root the property in its landscape. Their sculptural branches became the foundation for an abstract pattern that flows through signage, collateral, and guest touchpoints—uniting the experience through form, texture, and story.

From a bird’s-eye view, Healdsburg’s vineyards and orchards transform into a tapestry of lines and circles—a visual reflection of the region’s agricultural rhythm. A palette of golden vines, lush greens, and warm earth tones mirrors the beauty of the land.
