I am a patio made of stone and sand and will never be able to fly commercially.

This weekend marks the 10-year anniversary of the Curve. I started digging on a rainy Easter Sunday 2007. Joe appeared 7 minutes after the principal digging had been completed and the stones laid.

And what I learned is that chairs atop flat rocks will attract not just neighbors but kids, new babies, conversation, debate, food, wine, old people, strangers, friends, celebrations, and sometimes mourning the passing of a friend.

My advice? Keep chairs out of your front yard.

Come celebrate winter solstice tonight at 7 with a fire and a cocktail. Let there be light.
