We think it’s time more people got to know Butternut.✨🩶✨🩶
He’s been absolutely thriving in his foster home, but unfortunately his foster family will be traveling soon, so it’s time to find this sweet boy either his forever home or another loving foster.🙏🏼
The truth is, Butternut just hasn’t gotten much interest, and we can’t help but wonder if it’s because of his cropped ears. If that’s what’s giving you pause, don’t let them fool you. Behind those ears is one of the gentlest, sweetest, cuddliest dogs you’ll ever meet.
At 3 years old, Butternut is calm, house-trained, wonderful on leash, great with kids, and can do well with other dogs with thoughtful introductions. His foster describes him as “easy,” and he loves nothing more than long walks, outdoor dining, belly rubs, and curling up with his people. He’s the kind of dog who makes himself right at home in your heart.❤️
We would love nothing more than for Butternut to go straight from his foster home into the home he’s been waiting for. But if you’re not ready to adopt, opening your home to foster him would make such a difference while he waits.
🌟If you’d like to meet Butternut, fill out an application at rocketdogrescue.org, or email [email protected] or [email protected] if you already have one on file.
Let’s get this boy seen ❣️❣️❣️
Every dog deserves someone willing to see who they can become.❤️
Ceres is a 2-year-old Chihuahua mix who came to Rocket Dog in January frightened and unsure of the world around her. Not long after arriving, she gave birth to four beautiful puppies. One by one, they all found loving homes. Now it’s Ceres’s turn!
She’s still a shy girl, but every day she’s showing us just how much she’s capable of. One of the sweetest milestones? She’s started walking up to her foster mom for affection on her own. For many dogs that might seem small, but for Ceres, it’s everything.❤️🩹❤️
As she’s grown more comfortable, we’re also starting to see her playful side come out and little glimpses of the happy, silly dog she’s becoming.🤗
She’s looking for a patient adopter who will let her move at her own pace, celebrate the little victories, and continue showing her that the world can be a safe place. Ceres may also do well with a confident canine companion by her side.
Behind Ceres’s timid exterior is a sweet, gentle little dog who’s learning that the world can be a safe place. All she needs is someone willing to believe in her.✨❤️🩹
🌟If you would like to meet Ceres, fill out an adoption application on our website or if you have one on file already you can email us at [email protected]
Please share this post if you can in hopes to find her person or people ❤️🏡
Meet Loki and Quinn. 💜
For more than a year, we've hoped these best friends would find a home together.
When they came to Rocket Dog after being rescued from a municipal shelter, we believed keeping them bonded would give them the happiest future. So we waited. And hoped.
After more than a year, we've made the difficult—but thoughtful—decision to open their world a little wider.
Loki and Quinn can still be adopted together, and we'd love that if the right family comes along. But they can also be adopted separately.
This wasn't a decision made out of convenience. It was made out of love.
They've shown us they're confident, resilient dogs who enjoy other canine companions, are house trained, walk beautifully on leash, and love being outdoors. Most importantly, they're ready to begin the next chapter of their lives—even if that means finding separate families.
Keeping them bonded gave them one path to a home.
Giving them the option to be adopted separately gives them many more.
If you've been waiting for the perfect hiking buddy, walking companion, or loyal best friend, this might be your sign.
