VP, Business Development Will Dendy recently visited Scott Marrone and Maid Fast Construction in Escondido alongside our lending partner at U.S. Bank. It was great to see firsthand how much the business has expanded since purchasing their building through the SBA 504 program.

From the start, the goal was to create a permanent home to support growth and bring operations under one roof. Today, the business is thriving, with the space and stability to keep building for the future.

Our team spent time in Danville visiting Bernadette Moufarrej at Incontro and her newest addition, Albi’s — a great example of how SBA 504 financing supports long‑term growth. What began as a first restaurant project has evolved into an expansion rooted in stability, thoughtful planning, and a vision for what’s next.

Last year our team visited a few of the businesses we’ve helped through the SBA 504 Program, including Folkmanis Puppets and Bombera Oakland.

From imaginative puppets that inspire creativity in children around the world to a vibrant restaurant celebrating Mexican American culture and Chicana heritage cooking, these businesses represent the creativity and passion that make Oakland’s small business community so special.
