SUMMARY OF POSITION:
This position works independently and with teams on fabrication, maintenance and repair of dies from and for production. The Tool & Die Technician understands the operation of and performs construction, maintenance, troublehooting, and sharpening of dies.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Comply with safety, quality, and production requirements and procedures, including proper PPE usage
Regular/dependable attendance required
Maintain good housekeeping and workplace organization
Flexibility of work hours including overtime & adjusting shift schedule tp meet business needs
Able to work with and around moving equipment/machines
Safely work with chemicals in the workplace
Proficient use of a variety of precision machining tools and measurement devices
Perform die construction, debug, qualification, maintenance, and sharpening
Must maintain required PIV license
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ability to rotate to other positions as needed
Willingness to travel

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Manufacturing related experience is preferred
A degree in Tool & Die or other equivalent program or a minimum of 3 years of equivalent experience in the Tool & Die field or completion of the die builder trainee program within the first 2 years in the role.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Lift up to 100 lbs. at waist level and up to 70 lbs. at shoulder level up to an occasional basis when moving products
Push or pull with up to 100 lbs. of force up to an occasional basis when moving products
Generate up to 100 lbs. of grip strength up to an occasional basis with each hand while handling products
Generate up to 20 lbs. of pinch strength up to an occasional basis with each hand while handling products
Display average coordination with both hands up to a continuous basis while performing job tasks
Perform elevated work up to an occasional basis when handling products
Stoop, kneel or squat up to an occasional basis when handling products
Reach forward and to the side up to a frequent basis when handling products
Stand up to a continuous basis and walk up to a frequent basis during the course of each shift
Able to perform repetitive tasks up to 12 hours per day

$15.50/hr - $15.90/hr after 90 days
Up to two more potential pay increases in the first year
SUMMARY
The maintenance technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives. Must have the ability to think independently while functioning in a team environment.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

Repair, replace, adjust, align, inspect, operate, test and reassemble defective or malfunctioning equipment using hand or power tools.
Perform routine maintenance and inspect drives, motors and belts to ensure that equipment / systems are operational.
Connect power unit to machines or thermal oil piping to equipment, and test unit to evaluate its mechanical operations.
Repair, replace and/or adjust wear parts.
Fabricate, assemble and install equipment or miscellaneous parts, using hand tools, power tools or welder.
Inserts shims, adjust tension on nuts and bolts, position parts, using hand tools and measuring instruments, to set specified clearances between moving and stationary parts.
Move machinery and equipment, using hoist, dollies, rollers and industrial trucks.
Perform general building, construction and plumbing maintenance and repair work as assigned.
Assemble, install and/or repair wiring, electrical, plumbing, machinery and equipment per Work Orders in a timely manner as assigned.
Maintain work area in a neat and orderly fashion. Returning tools to assigned area. Replacing all guards and safety items when work is complete.
Fill in and or assist with training for production and or other maintenance personnel on machine operations and/or adjustments as directed by Supervisor and/or Management.
Complete Purchase Requisitions for new parts, replacement parts, shutdown items, PM items and turn in to Supervisor for approval.
Complete and turn in daily maintenance logs.
Document in log books for changes that may affect the process.
Complete the spare parts inventory checkout procedure.
Know and adhere to all Policy and Procedures - Hot Works, Confined Space, Lock Out Tag Out, and any Safety Procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
Keep supervisor informed of any significant problems or opportunities related to work activity.
QUALIFICATIONS
4+ years of manufacturing experience
Call in hours required to repair equipment breakdowns to minimize plant downtime.
Knowledge of machines including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
Ability to use tools ranging from common hand and power tools to precision measuring instruments and electrical testing devices.
Ability to clearly communicate in both written and oral form.
Basic welding skills
