No need to adjust your 👓 prescriptions: our socials have been updated to the attached image in solidarity with our disabled community during Disability Pride Month.
This image was created by a DSA member who was part of the National DSA Disability Working Group.
Here is a good read if you would like to learn more: https://www.dsausa.org/blog/hybrid-convention-toward-a-socialist-future-that-includes-us-all/
We do have a dedicated space in Discord for this subject matter available to dues-paid members and educational accessibility is being discussed in our working group, and is also present in the work behind the scenes with our Pre-Organizing Committee.
We invite your contributions to building representation and advocacy by becoming a part of our community. At the link in bio you can find our email list, how to sign up for DSA membership, and so much more!

Our Socialist’s Social’s have been great so far!
It gives us a good chunk of time to connect, have fun, support a small business, and brainstorm. 🌹
This past week at our social the neighboring Pasco-Hernando Democratic Socialists of America chapter surprised us and joined in on the fun with several of their members!
Whether you’re just finding out about Democratic Socialists of America, are interested in it for the future, or are an active organizer— we are happy to meet you!
See you all at end of July for the next Socialist’s Social.

July is Disability Pride Month. It celebrates the history, achievements, and experiences of people with disabilities. This month is observed every July because it marks the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), which became law on July 26, 1990.
Disability Pride Month started in 1990. The first Disability Pride Day was held in Boston, Massachusetts, that same year. The first official Disability Pride Month was celebrated in July 2015.
The month brings disabled people together to embrace their identities. It encourages the disability community to reject shame and internalized ableism. Ableism is discrimination or prejudice against people with disabilities.

Another Democratic Socialist is going to Congress. Congratulations to DSA member Melat Kiros! The DSA difference pushed us over the line again: thousands of working class people organized together, knocked on over 100,000 doors, and made over 500,000 calls to win this race.
Fired three years ago for supporting students protesting genocide, Congresswoman Kiros will take the fight for a better world to D.C. We’ll be with her in the fight to Abolish ICE, free Palestine, and win Universal Childcare and Medicare for All.
Congresswoman Kiros and the other Democratic Socialists in Congress will need allies from across the country. DSA is fighting to put them in office. You can pitch in by donating to our Federal Slate: dsausa.us/federal-slate
