All the horses did just fine last night! No panicking no restlessness just occasional alertness🦄 Yet another benefit to having as much turn out as possible even during storms. No “desensitization” necessary, just happy and thinking horses. Although yes it helps that the fire works were a mile or more away. But still they enjoyed another peaceful night ❤️🤍💙🇺🇸

THIS…. Don’t risk your equine friends over how things “have always been done”. Between constant cold hosing and limiting forage like alfalfa to other times of the day (because alfalfa metabolizes hotter than others) you can protect your horses from getting over heated and suffering exhaustion, stroke or death. Many college equine science programs have articles on both these facts. So make sure you’re getting your information from REPUTABLE sources because “old ways of thinking” and chat GPT are not always correct.
