National Youth HIV/AIDS Awareness Day is a day for the consideration of young people in policy making, education, and medical care surrounding HIV/AIDS. Young people are the ones that will have to live with the consequences of our current approach to all three of these areas. Many today still feel the lasting impact of missing LGBTQ+ elders due to the massive public health crisis for aids in the 1980s. What you advocate for now, will encourage a vibrant future for following generations.

This day is also intended to encourage young people to seek testing, prevention methods, and get involved with advocacy for HIV care. Protect your friends, family, and intimate partners by protecting yourself.

The North County LGBTQ+ Resource Center offers safe, confidential, accurate, and free HIV testing every other Wednesday from 3pm - 5pm.

We also offer a Spanish/English support group for those living with HIV. Join us for a confidential, affirming, and uplifting space on every third Saturday of the month at 2:00pm.

Both of these services are located at our Center, 1919 Apple Street, Oceanside, CA 92054.
