Shaping Kenya’s Future Through Chemical Science and Technology

At the Centre for Science, Technology, and Innovation (CSTI), we are committed to driving Kenya's economic growth by promoting innovation and technological advancements. We honor the constitutional right to assemble and protest, which is vital for advocating change, and we commend our courageous youth for raising their voices regarding the proposed Finance Bill 2024. We extend our heartfelt wishes for a speedy recovery to those injured and our deepest condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones.

The Finance Bill 2024 has significant implications for our economy, and we applaud H.E. President Ruto for withdrawing the bill from Parliament in response to public concerns. This move underscores the importance of inclusive governance and addressing the needs of all stakeholders.

Empowering the Youth

By providing our youth with advanced skills and comprehensive training in Science and Technology Innovation (STI), we can unlock their potential to drive economic productivity and innovation. Empowered youth can tackle personal and national debts, contributing significantly to the economy, particularly local climate and environmental solutions through chemical innovation.

Promoting Peace Through Dialogue

Violence is never the answer. It’s crucial to establish transparent and structured mechanisms for dialogue to address the concerns of all stakeholders. We are encouraged by H.E. President Ruto’s responsiveness and look forward to similar engagement from Parliament. Through constructive dialogue, we can create a peaceful environment where every voice is heard and collective solutions are developed for the nation’s benefit.

CSTI remains steadfast in advocating for a balanced Finance Act that reflects the needs of both citizens and businesses. We call on the government to continue meaningful dialogue and ensure the protection of lives and livelihoods, as guaranteed by our constitution.
