What you’re looking at is the proposed plan to expand the Cabrillo SMR by 15.2 square miles to the North and West off Point Loma. This (Petition 2023-33MPA) would be a massive expansion in restricting recreational fishing and diving off of Point Loma in San Diego. It is currently under consideration.

Unfortunately, the time for written remarks has closed. However, it’s not too late to make yourself heard. There is a meeting scheduled for Tuesday, March 19th at 9am in San Clemente, California. Concerned individuals can attend locally, or participate remotely via Zoom using the link bellow:
