If there’s a will, there’s a way 🦁🏀
Vasu is slowly learning how to carry a full size basketball and make it into the target, and I couldn’t be prouder. Yes, he used his face a few times, but he also used his right hand. For a little boy with cerebral palsy, every basket is so much bigger than a game. It’s determination, hard work, and proof that progress comes one victory at a time.
Warrior Bond 💚
God knew our boys would need warriors beside them, and He knew we would too. Vasu and Amari are both warriors, each with their own journey, their own battles, and their own victories.
There is no comparison because every child is fighting a different fight. Watching Amari grow fills my heart with so much hope, and celebrating his victories comes just as naturally as celebrating Vasu’s.
That’s what makes special needs mom friendships so beautiful. We don’t compete. We pray for each other, cry with each other, and cheer the loudest for one another’s children because we know exactly what it took to get there. I am so thankful God brought Amari and his mama into our lives.

For the next 7 hours, every vote counts as DOUBLE, and we’re determined to stay in the #1 spot as they narrow it down to the Top 5. One vote is completely FREE, and today that one free vote counts as two. If you’ve been meaning to vote, now is the time. Every vote brings Vasu one step closer, and we truly appreciate your support.
VLS 💚🦁
Today we’re showing two of Vasu’s signs. We are teaching him ASL because it has been the form of communication that makes the most sense to him. Since he has cerebral palsy, the fine motor movements needed for ASL can be difficult, so his signs do not always look exactly like traditional ASL.
Of course, we are also teaching him verbally and with his communication device. Our goal is to give him as many ways to communicate as possible, because every child deserves to be heard.
Every time we teach a new sign, we model the correct ASL version because we want him to be able to communicate with as many people as possible. At the same time, we celebrate the way his body makes the sign today. We like to call it VSL, Vasu Sign Language. His signs may look a little different, but they have meaning, they have purpose, and most importantly, they give our little warrior a voice. Every new sign is another step toward independence.
need your help, special needs community. 🚨‼️
We’re getting ready to start potty training Vasu, and I’d love to hear from families who have been through it. Of course, if I have to change his diaper for the rest of his life, I will without hesitation because I’m his mom and I love him more than anything. But if there’s a chance we can help him gain this independence, I want to give it everything we’ve got.
If you’ve potty trained your little warrior, what worked for you? Any tips, tricks, schedules, equipment, books, or advice would mean the world to us. Please share your experience in the comments. You never know who else you might help too.
And drop a 💛 if you believe Vasu can conquer this.
We believe every victory starts with hope.
How could he not be my entire world? ❤️
From the moment he wakes up until the moment he falls asleep, we’re together. We spend hours at home working on therapy, hours driving to appointments, hours in PT, OT, speech, and everything in between. Every day is filled with helping him learn, grow, and experience the world. I’m not just his mom. I’m his safe place, his biggest cheerleader, his therapist at home, his advocate, and his person. Some days I’m completely overstimulated and exhausted, but none of that changes how deeply I love him. He’s my little warrior, and every second is worth it. He’s my world.

Why the spider cage?
🕸️ Safe place to practice without the fear of falling.
The spider cage provides support while still allowing children to move independently. That safety gives them the confidence to practice new skills, take healthy risks, and learn without the constant fear of falling.
🧠 Hundreds of repetitions help build new pathways in the brain.
Repetition is one of the most important parts of motor learning. The spider cage allows children to safely practice the same movements over and over, giving the brain more opportunities to strengthen connections and improve movement.
💪 Builds confidence to try movements that once felt impossible.
When a child experiences success, they are more willing to keep trying. The spider cage helps them accomplish challenging tasks in a supported environment, turning “I can’t” into “I can.”
🎯 Encourages independence by giving only the support a child needs.
The bungees do not do the work. They provide just enough assistance for children to complete movements on their own. As strength and balance improve, that support can gradually be reduced.
🎈 Makes therapy feel like play, keeping kids engaged while they learn.
The best therapy does not always feel like therapy. Games, toys, obstacle courses, and fun activities keep children motivated while they work on strength, balance, coordination, and functional skills.
One of God’s greatest testimonies 🥹💪🔥
There is no doubt in our minds that Vasu is going to be one of the greatest testimonies to God’s name. He works harder than most people will ever see, showing up every single day and giving therapy everything he has. But hard work alone doesn’t explain his story. We truly believe God filled in the gaps where medicine couldn’t. Vasu put in the work, and God supplied the miracle. Every new milestone points back to Him, and we will never stop giving God the glory for what He has done and continues to do.
He was made to participate, not just watch. 👀❤️
Something deeply important to us is making sure Vasu never feels like he has to sit back and only watch while other kids or even we get to experience life. Even if he doesn’t fully understand yet, or can’t do something on his own, we will always be there to help, guide, and support him.
That includes lighting fireworks too.
I never want him to feel like his diagnosis means he has to miss out on the fun. He deserves to be part of the memories, the excitement, and the joy right alongside everyone else.
