🙏Grief Companioning – Holding space for your grieving client

❤The need for someone to be fully present to the magnitude of one’s loss without trying to fix it or point out the silver lining is the main theme of this course. It is who we are that has the greatest impact on the caring relationship. How do we as Massage Therapists and Bodyworkers hold space for our grieving clients? This course is designed to support and guide those who wish to companion the bereaved while offering hands-on therapy.
When someone in grief comes to us, we want to be able to be a light to help guide them out of the darkness. Our presence, our wisdom, and our knowledge are the gifts we can offer our clients who are grieving. In this course we will explore:
• Your individual relationship with grief and loss - death and dying
• The six needs of the grieving so you will have the confidence of knowing how to offer a space of compassion.
• The vast lens of grief and healing
• Seven Tenets of Companioning
• Grief through the lens of the body
• Hands-on protocol to support the grieving body.
• Multiple ways to invite your client to welcome the experience of grief as an opportunity to grow in wisdom and compassion, and to recognize the transformative power of grief and loss
This sacred space of sanctuary is a place where we can come together for learning in community, deepen our understanding of grief and the body, engage in group discussion, learn and practice deep breathing techniques, explore contemplative inquiry along with a body-centered invitation and conclude with a sacred ceremony. This will be an opportunity for the helping hearts of the world to remember our own well-being is a priority when serving others.

Kathy Ginn has been active in the profession of massage therapy & bodywork as a practitioner, teacher and mentor since 1991. She is a body-centered Hakomi practitioner, certified grief companion and certified End of Life Care Doula. She is the author of - The Soul of Ethical Service. Her courses are experiential in nature, offering felt-sense learning. Through her continued journey of inner exploration and personal growth, her commitment and dedication is to support others on their journey. Kathy is an engaging, warm and passionate teacher, who brings a heightened level of understanding and responsibility to the topic of Grief Companioning for Massage Therapists and Bodyworkers.
