Legendary Service Dogs

The other day, Dartagnan SDIT's Mom had multiple dogs alerting to her and even pinning her. Dartagnan later helped her through a Seizure. The next day, she had a severe almost blinding migraine, which is not common for her. Thankfully, she's doing better today.

We're keeping a close eye on Dartagnan / Charmy's Mom today. So far, all the dogs have alerted to her, pinned her, and shown a higher level of concern than normal. We just had another storm move through last night, which I'm sure is contributing, but this is abnormal. Thankful for their heads up so we can take extra precautions today.

Having dogs that can task near each other or together, and even take turns is very important in households that have multiple Service Dogs / Service Dogs In Training. Handlers sometimes have medical episodes right next to each other, so dogs are in close proximity. Other times, one handler may have multiple dogs who insist on tasking at once. Then there's our house, where dogs in training are added that are learning how to recognize and assist during medical. Navigating this to ensure there's no resource guarding, insecurities, or even playtime, etc is a high priority.

Photo of Charmy who launched onto the bed and refused to potty until she felt her Mom had been taken care of enough for her to leave her for a few minutes. Then she was right back up on the bed tasking for her. She isn't a year old yet, but is incredibly dedicated. Natsu also says, "Good luck retiring me with medical still in the house." He does what he wants now, lol.
