🌊🐣 We’re incredibly lucky! For the first time in FORever, a pair of American Oystercatchers is nesting on at Greenwich Point β€” a rare and exciting sign that conservation efforts are working!

But they need our help. These sensitive shorebirds face many challenges, and the best way we can support them is by giving them space. Their nesting area is clearly fenced off β€” please avoid that area.

πŸ›‘ American Oystercatchers are protected by federal, state, and town laws, and disturbing them is a serious offense.

Let’s protect what makes Greenwich so special β€” and give these rare birds a real shot at raising their chicks.

πŸ’› How you can help:
βœ” Stay away from fenced areas
βœ” Pack out your food and trash
βœ” Report any disturbances
βœ” Become a volunteer shorebird monitor next season!

Please contact local enforcement or ENCON and the Audubon Alliance for Coastal Waterbirds to report shorebird disturbances πŸ“§ [email protected]
