Beginning May 4, 2026, this page will not be updated until certification of the November general election.
During an election year, there are certain restrictions on my communications to ensure no state resources are used for election purposes. One of these restrictions is a freeze on this page, which means this page is also unable to accept comments during this period.
Despite these restrictions being in place, if you have questions or comments about legislative issues, please feel free to continue to contact me using the link below. Thank you!

Thank you to North Queen Anne Child Care for the opportunity to learn and talk about priorities for early learning and child care and ways the state is investing in our littlest learners!

Honoring Dolores Huerta — her voice, her fight, and her legacy continue to inspire action. Sí se puede.

April 10th is Dolores Huerta Day here in WA! In 2019, we passed legislation to designate the day and honor the legacy of this incredible civil rights activist, organizer, and labor leader.

Dolores Huerta, a mother and teacher, began her fight aiming to improve the living conditions of her students - many of whom were the children of farmworkers. She went on to co-found what would eventually become the United Farm Workers union, expanding her fight to address working conditions for farmworkers and to advocate for women's equality. She is an inspiring American icon whose strength, leadership, and legacy will be honored in Washington state for years to come!

Equal Pay Day is about fairness, plain and simple.

No one should be paid less for the same work. Washington has taken steps forward, including SHB 1905, to strengthen pay equity protections, and I’ll keep working to make sure every worker is treated with dignity and respect.

As we approach over 20 hours straight of debate here on the House Floor, legislators and staff are working hard to keep ourselves awake.

There’s no better way to stay sharp than with some good-natured fun and laughter, so with that, here are some light-hearted memes submitted by loyal supporters and creative geniuses using a photo from yesterday’s bill signing.

This is why I ❤️ you, policy wonks!
