and CSA boxes are here!🥰If you’re not familiar, CSA stands for Community, (or consumer) Supported Agriculture. Turning that concept around is valid too, as it’s also agriculture that supports community. The way it works ~ you buy from a farm, or food hub which sources from many farms, up front and receive boxes of local produce, meat, or value-added products throughout the season. The Southwest Washington Food Hub is a good choice if you want control over what you get in your box each week. They email members a list of what will be in the boxes a week in advance and allow substitutions. I love this option for menu planning! Lost Peacock Creamery makes fabulous goat cheeses and they’re just super nice people. brings me eggs as well as flowers, so if you need a dozen with your next bouquet come and get ‘em! I’m so happy to be able to provide a pick up point for local farms and hope to expand the food offerings this summer. Whether you get it here or or or your neighborhood farm stand, eat local.
