Omaha could open entire city for small dwellings; winning architect firms have plans ready If changes are approved by the City Council, Omaha would allow accessory dwelling units across the city and not just in its midtown and eastern areas.

Straightline Design was excited to be a part of AARP of Nebraska's ADU for U design competition. Along with the Omaha City Planning Department, the ADU for U competition tasked designers and architects with developing a small footprint (under 750 s.f.) ADU (accessory dwelling unit) that was Age-Friendly and cost effective. We are happy that the City of Omaha and AARP of Nebraska is choosing to tackle the issues of affordable housing and housing density.
