Questions and concerns like “How do we help eliminate trash and litter around the bus benches?” were raised at the city council meeting on June 4th. 🚏🚌 The answer could be that there are trash receptacles on every Metro Transit bus in Omaha, but drivers would have to stop telling riders that they can’t bring food or drinks with on the bus them. Metro has no rule against bus riders bringing food or drinks on buses.

[3 of 3] By delaying the proposal process more than 16 months, and choosing the rules to follow, the Omaha Parks & Recreation Department hand-picked an out-of-state and out-of-country company to take over bus bench advertising in Omaha. 🚏🚌 They will soon be replacing Omaha’s current bus benches with anti-houseless, nonconforming benches with “armrests” – starting with Dodge St.

In the coming weeks, the out-of-state and out-of-country, monopolistic company hand-picked by the Omaha Parks & Rec. Dept. will begin replacing Omaha’s current bus benches with anti-houseless, nonconforming benches with “armrests”. The bus benches along Dodge St. will be the first ones replaced. 🚏🚌
