The Federal Aviation Administration is targeting gamers in a new push to tackle a major shortage of air traffic controllers.

Per a report in the NY Times, officials say video game players bring useful skills like quick thinking, focus, and strong hand-eye coordination, which can translate well to the job.

The agency is trying to fill thousands of open roles and has even launched a new ad campaign aimed at younger applicants.

A hiring window opens from April 17, with a cap of 8,000 applicants.
