Cat Crew Rescue

This is the surviving kitten from the mama and kittens rescued on Monday. Sadly the second kitten died yesterday after a week of struggling to survive. We tried everything. We gave it subQ fluids, we were feeding around the clock, we started her on antibiotics. She got a B12 shot, and she was in the incubator as Mama kept tossing her aside. I am certain the two kittens that passed were born with some congenital abnormality as they were so underdeveloped compared to this sibling that is big, robust and healthy. Whatever it was, there was nothing that could be done to save them. The last one hung on a little longer, but nature had other plans for it, and Mama kne.w.bit. Although it breaks my heart and it’s difficult to lose a kitten you’ve worked with, I know that’s just life. And this kitten got to experience seven days of life as she knew it. She stretched and purred and enjoyed being touched. And that little bit had meaning.
