Baseball Recap: Hayward Farmers vs. Redwood Christian Eagles

There's no place like home for Hayward, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Redwood Christian Eagles 4-3. While the Farmers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Hayward's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Liam Conley, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Hayward's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 11.0 runs this season. As for Redwood Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Coming up, Hayward is taking a road trip to face off against American at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Farmers 3.2, the Eagles 3) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Redwood Christian, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against San Domenico at 4:00 p.m
