In preparation for Oliver's installation in Breckenridge, we practiced hanging the sculpture multiple times at every stage of construction in our home and shop, but nothing prepared us for the challenges of the day. Here's a then vs. now before we share the full install!

Oliver is super excited to bring color into this composition through his hand-braided strings. Here, is how he uses a thinner black string to map out how they weave in between the curves. We install this commission in just a couple weeks! 🎉

Today, Miranda begins painting the last sculpture she'll ever paint before she begins her Master's at Yale School of Architecture next month 🎉

I've been waiting for Oliver to be almost finished with his sculpture to share this dramatic photo of him dumping run off (a.k.a wood juice) from the steam box during his final bending session. Can you believe that pile of twists and loops are shaped to perfection and awaiting a second coat of finish?
