Why Summer Day Camp Matters More in 2026 04/14/2026

Calling All Scouters! —We could use your help sharing something exciting!

Our summer day camps—Adventure Camp and Junior Adventure Camp—are more than just a great week outdoors. For many families, they’re the first introduction to what Scouting is all about. It’s where kids try something new, build confidence, and start to see what they’re capable of.

And for us, it’s one of the most effective ways to connect with new families and grow Scouting here in Orange County.

You know the impact of this program. You’ve seen the growth, the friendships, the confidence that comes from it. Help us share that story.

If you’re able, please take a moment to share the article below on your Facebook. It’s a simple step that helps more families discover the experience.

Why Summer Day Camp Matters More in 2026 Less screen time, more growth: IROEC’s Adventure and Junior Adventure camps give kids an active, local summer built around outdoors.

Something new is making waves 🌊 Developed right here in Orange County, this badge was inspired by our coastline, our culture, and the countless Scouts who call the ocean their playground. We’re incredibly proud to help lead the way in bringing this experience to life.

From reading the ocean to catching your first wave, Scouts can now explore the fundamentals of surfing while building confidence, balance, and respect for the power of the sea.

Who’s ready to paddle out?

Science at the OEC has been pretty fun lately.

During Outdoor Science School, students got to play around with things like fog bubbles and dry ice—watching science actually happen right in their hands. It’s one thing to read about it, but way cooler when you can see it, feel it, and try it yourself.

Lots of curiosity, a little chaos, and some really cool moments along the way.
