This Mother’s Day, we honor mothers and mother figures who have persevered and led their families into better futures. Mothers like Gemma*, who came to EverFree pregnant and alone, but with an unshakeable determination to build a life for her and her daughter. She dreamt of the things many of us take for granted: a safe home, stability, independence.

Gemma attended every single session of EverFree’s Economic Empowerment Program. That’s how much it meant to her to see a way forward. And, when Gemma walked the stage for her graduation, her caseworker cradled her new baby girl in the audience. In that moment, two lives changed at once.
