Most modern homes don't get built on hazelnut farms... but this one did!
Welcome to the Cornelius Contemporary Custom Home, a 4,000 sq. ft. modern timber frame home on a working hazelnut farm in Cornelius, Oregon.
The project started as the Timberline kit from our sister company, DC Structures, and our team took it somewhere entirely its own.
Glass curtain walls, oversized heavy timbers, and sloped rooflines built to frame views of Mt. Hood from the covered patio.
A few standout details:
🔸 A custom 12'×12' Douglas fir covered entry, milled in-house
🔸 Polished concrete flooring throughout the main living space
🔸 Marvin floor-to-ceiling windows
🔸 A double-sided wood-burning fireplace anchoring the great room
When it comes to building a custom home, we don't view it as just a finished project; it's a sum of every decision being made for one specific person on one specific piece of land.

There's a moment when you walk into a timber frame building and your eyes go straight up ⬆️
That's exactly what happens at the Patrick Lumber Timber Hall in Philomath, Oregon.
What you're looking at overhead isn't decoration added after the fact. It IS the building. #1 grade 12"x12" Doug fir timbers, cut with traditional mortise and tenon and scarf joinery, left fully exposed across more than 6,000 sq. ft. of office and event space.
Patrick Lumber supplied the timbers themselves; we built their headquarters to prove what those timbers could do.
The result is a space so beautiful that we genuinely wanted to move our own company in!
