Every driver’s worst nightmare is a head-on collision... and recently, I found myself staring right at one.
I was driving down a country road that had just been freshly blacktopped, meaning the painted yellow lines that tell you when it’s safe to pass were completely covered up. As I crested a small hill, my heart absolutely dropped. A car was speeding straight toward me, in my lane, trying to pass someone else. We were in a 55-mph zone.
We were only four or five car lengths apart when I saw them. I noticed that they put on their brakes slightly, but we both instantly realized the terrifying truth: they didn't have time to fall back behind the car they were passing, and they didn't have time to speed up and get around them either. A crash felt inevitable.
With only a split second to react, I swerved as far to the right side of the road as I could. Half of my car was on the shoulder, and half was still on the pavement.
And then... a miracle happened.
Somehow, defying all logic, all three vehicles managed to squeeze past each other on that narrow stretch of road. Not a single car collided. Not a single scratch.
I drove the rest of the way with tears in my eyes, just praising God. He completely shielded me from what would have been a devastating disaster. I know exactly who was watching over me on that country road! 🙏✨

My Journey of Faith: Finding Peace When I Least Expected It 🙏✨
Hi everyone, my name is Celeste, and I’ve been an inmate here in Texas for 19 years. I want to share a quick story with you all about faith, overcoming fear, and unexpected blessings.
Recently, I spent two weeks in the hospital recovering from major stomach repair surgery. Because I was still on a liquid diet and needing pain medication, I was temporarily placed in the medical cells to recover. When it was finally time to leave medical, I found out I was being sent back to my old dorm, Lane Murray. I was filled with dread because that was the exact place where my stomach was injured to begin with.
I was packing up my things at 2:30 in the morning, getting ready for the move. My first instinct was to just break down and cry. But I stopped myself. I prayed and said, “OK God, You know what that hateful unit has done to me. So, obviously, You know what You’re doing. I won't cry or fret—I’ll just trust You.”
When I arrived at Lane Murray, I was completely shocked. They had built a brand-new handicapped unit! Everything was pristine and white. The cubicles are huge, with plenty of room to easily maneuver a wheelchair. All the showers now have bench seating and spray wands.
But the biggest blessing of all? It has air conditioning. ❄️ If you know anything about Texas prisons, you know the metal dorm buildings can easily reach over 130 degrees during the heat of the summer, so this is an absolute game-changer.
This new dorm is so peaceful. We are an older group with serious medical issues, and we are treated with dignity and respect. It is honestly the best dorm I’ve lived in during my entire 19 years in prison!
I know that was God looking out for me. All I had to do was have faith, just like Abraham, that He would work all things out for my good. 🤍
Romans 8:28 "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

✨ A "NOW THAT WAS GOD" STORY: A Great Light ✨
Have you ever tried shifting from a “me first” mindset to a “God first” mindset? For Teresa from Texas, it took hitting rock bottom for the light to finally switch on.
Here is her powerful story:
"There is a light in my life that I never even knew was off, until it came on. Prison was my opportunity to get still enough, and undistracted enough, to learn what value really is, and where it belongs. God is first! I am second! Because of this, I will never be the same. Hallelujah!"
Today, Teresa is thriving and better than she has ever been. She has found her true identity, a clear mind, and immense satisfaction in applying biblical truth to her daily life. It’s a completely transformed life! 🙌
Having the light of the Holy Spirit turn on is a sudden, life-changing experience. You become a new person in Christ and never want to go back to the old, unfulfilled past. This is the light that came into the world, the light Teresa experienced, and the light you can experience, too.
📖 Words of Light for Your Day:
