Congratulations to Jessica Roman-Rodriguez, recipient of the Melody Burton Scholarship. Jessica is an Exceptional Education paraprofessional at Meadow Woods Elementary, who is working toward her teaching degree. Mr. Rolando Bailey, the Southeast LC Area Superintendent presented the award letter to Jessica, along with administrators Principal Edmi Figueroa and Assistant Principal Laquel Glenn.

OCPS Principal of the Year Finalist...Congratulations to Dr. Aleli Vazquez, Meadow Woods Elementary Principal – Dr. Vazquez focuses on building teacher capacity. She models and inspires teachers to try new things, take risks, and be creative and dynamic. She’s provided strategic professional development and equipped staff with strategies to design calm, inviting classrooms. Dr. Vazquez’s investment in human capital and trauma infused learning increased staff morale and academic performance.

Congratulations Walker MS!! Walker Odyssey of the Mind Team was recognized at a recent School Board meeting for their Regional Championship.
Now the team, which competed virtually and led by Mr. Shapiro, has placed 7th in the world! What an great accomplishment! Way to go!

Free Grab-and-Go Meals
Now including weekend meals!
Beginning April 10, Friday Grab-and-Go meals include meals for the three day weekend. Meals are available for pick-up between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., Monday through Friday, in the car loop of each school site. Friday Grab-and-Go meals will include three days worth of meals.
Students are no longer required to be present to receive the meals. Parents must provide the names of students for whom they are picking up meals. District staff will record names and distribute the meals directly to parents in their vehicles (drive-thru service).
Students walking and/or riding a bike to the school can also pick up meals. Based on recommendations from our federal and state leaders, all meals should be taken home to eat.
