It is reckless that the United States continues to bury its head in the sand when it comes to wireless radiation health effects. The technology is in every pocket, pressed against our brains and bodies for hours a day, yet the government behaves as if studying its long-term health effects is optional.

NIEHS just released its report on pilot studies by its Division of Translational Toxicology to investigate how cell phone radiation might cause tumors and DNA damage, following the findings from its 2018 rodent studies. The experiments were short-term (5-day exposures) but contrary to the stated conclusion of no effects, Dr. Moskowitz highlights how the authors actually reported statistically significant evidence of DNA damage.

Dr. Joel Moskowitz comments on the release of this study that, “The NIEHS’s decision to disregard the findings of the DTT and NTP studies, which linked cell phone radiation to DNA damage and cancer, and to halt further research on this environmental carcinogen, represents a failure to uphold its mandate of protecting public health.”

Every year that passes without rigorous, independent research is another year the nation gambles with the health of its people and the environment for the sake of corporate profits.
