Using green tea to boost your metabolism

Green tea has been a stable of cultures for centuries due to it's
numerous medicinal purposes. But recently, attention has been focused on it's ability to boost metabolism and, therefore, promote weight loss.

Green ea boosts metabolism by way of an antioxidant compound
called catechins. Along with the natural caffeine, catechins
regulate body fat and even help to prevent future weight gain by
way of a complicated physiological process.

In this process, the sympathetic nervous system becomes
stimulated. This causes the body to increases it's sensitivity
to insulin. The combination of catechins and caffeine interferes
with enzymes which target the body's regulation of energy as well
as fat storage.

After a series of cellular chain reactions has occurred, the
body's level of noradrenaline is massively increased which
ultimately leads to fat being burned off at an accelerated rate.
One of the main areas targeted for this fat elimination is
visceral fat, or fat around the midsection.

It also lowers LDL, or "bad" cholesterol.

Separate snacks ahead of time to avoid making unhealthy choices

Eating healthy with today's busy lifestyle means more than just
good meal planning. It also means having healthy snacks. But we
often become so preoccupied with our schedules that we forget
this important step. When this happens, we are often left with
making bad food choices.

The way around this is to plan all of your snacks out ahead of
time so you will always be prepared. Eating healthy, balanced
meals and then throwing it all away by consuming unhealthy snacks
won't work. It has to be an all-out effort.

Makes sure to always have plenty of healthy snack options on
hand- especially when you will be away from home. It eliminates
the desire to pick up fast food.

Have lots of snack options available and pre-package them for
times when you are in a hurry. Healthy snacking is an option.
If you don't bring unhealthy snacks into the home, you can't eat
them, right?

Find a weight loss buddy

One of the surest ways to improve your chances of losing
weight is to enlist the help of a friend. Not having to go it alone means that you will have someone giving you a constant reminder of what you need to do.

Although some people need more direction than others everyone can benefit from a weight loss buddy. This person can be just a phone call or email away at all times. Their support and encouragement can mean the difference between giving into failure and succeeding.

A weight loss buddy doesn't necessarily have to be someone who also needs to lose weight. But if they are on the same path as you, or have recently been there, then they will be sure to have a better understanding of exactly what it is that you are going through.

Being able to pull off of someone else's experience is
invaluable. Having someone who really understands the trials and temptations that you are faced with is very important. Being able to share with someone else means never having to go it alone.
