A solid and well-maintained formalized concrete washout is important on a construction site. It provides a designated area for safely containing wash water, slurry, and leftover concrete materials. Without proper washout controls, highly alkaline concrete waste can seep into soil, storm drains, or nearby waterways, causing environmental damage and regulatory violations.

Rainy season is quickly approaching in Florida. From May-June it is common for severe storms to occur and the season ends in November. It is important for a construction site to prepare for this weather and ensure their Best Management Practices (BMPs) are appropriate to prevent sedimentation into sensitive areas, waterways, and conveyances.
