Stress disables the learning process of a child. Cortisol is a hormone that is produced when a child experiences trauma. It cuts off the connections in the learning and memory parts of the brain. While we cannot protect our children from all possible stressors, our close relationship with them can help them cope with stressful situations.

Raising a Healthy Kid

Statistics show that one in five children in the US is obese. Obesity increases the risk of having type 2 diabetes and heart disease. With that, we are encouraged to make healthy changes in our diet and activities as families. The shift to including more vegetables and fruits in the family meals and making sports or other fun physical activities as bonding moments are highly advised.
