TL;DR: December was pure chaos, I accidentally lived an entire year in one month, and now I’m rethinking whether I actually want a slower, quieter life 😅

December tried to take me out… but I’m still here.

If I seemed to disappear, it’s because life went full circus mode. Picture juggling flaming bowling pins on a moving walkway, that was the vibe.

In one month I: recovered from a ripped-off toenail (10/10 do not recommend), installed a chandelier in our stairwell, prepped the house for guests (twice), picked up first guest from the airport and hosted for a week, won the President’s Award at our PPCF banquet, had dinner with a friend I hadn’t seen in months, emceed a networking event, went on a 3-night birthday cruise, came home to a dead washing machine, bought a new one, toured an amazing coworking space… and then got taken out by a 10-day virus.

While still sick, I picked up my sister and her boyfriend from the airport, hosted them for 7 days, went to Universal and Islands of Adventure, did a client makeup session, lived in a house with two dogs, made a trip to H-Mart, photographed TWO magazine covers, played mini golf, joined a big family call across four countries, dealt with some friend drama right before Christmas (apparently I needed a dramatic subplot), celebrated Christmas Eve, drove to Tampa to see Illenium, faced more truck problems (because of course), tried to diet like a delusional optimist, helped shop for a fish tank stand, helped with a rock feature for said fish tank, and wrapped up the year by the fire on NYE.

By the end of the month my nervous system said:

“Ma’am… sit down.” 😂

And honestly… it shifted something in me.

There was a time I thrived in chaos. I chased busy. I lived for momentum. But lately, I’m feeling pulled toward slower days, quieter seasons, and a life that feels more grounded.

Still figuring out what that looks like — but December definitely started the conversation.

If your month also felt like a lifetime… same. We laughed, we cried, we powered through it anyway.
