Thought I’d share some tools used that were GOLDEN during active phase of labor: 📋

1. Minimal time on bed (only toward the end using peanut ball between legs before pushing) when she got to take a power nap
2. Hydration (no IV used) with coconut water and ice chips
3. Sitting on the toilet (it truly is the “dilation station” and helps baby drop and get into position)
5. Wooden comb to hold on to while practicing deep breathing inhale 1234 exhale 5678910
6. Hydrotherapy (mom got on the birth ball in the shower and since wireless monitors are waterproof, she got to relax to the feeling and sound of water on her back and belly)
7. Her choice of music & essential oils
8. Positive birth affirmations read in Spanish over and over again to remind her of her strength
9. Mom led pushing and minimal chit chat happening around her at all times
10. Birth preference/plan was handed out at the beginning and referred to as needed yet being open and flexible in the process

There is community in motherhood!

Thankful I got to be in this space as they welcomed their second son and baby brother into the world at 10:35 pm, a week ago today! 🤍
He was so ready to meet them too! ⚡️
Seeing families grow is just so beautiful!!! 🙌
