Today at CAP Village, the spirit of Carnival came alive the moment the Power House Music Family kicked off their steel pan class! The unmistakable rhythms of the Caribbean echoed throughout Orlando Fashion Square Mall, making it feel as though we had been transported straight to the heart of Trinidad.

Led by the incredibly talented steel pan artist Anthony Lewis, this class is giving the next generation the opportunity to learn one of the Caribbean’s most iconic instruments from an accomplished musician who is passionate about preserving our culture. Every note played tells a story of heritage, resilience, and celebration.

If you’re looking for something positive, educational, and inspiring for your child to do this summer, this is the perfect opportunity. Let them experience more than just the look and taste of Caribbean culture—let them master the beautiful sound that has brought joy to generations. AI… the most controversial topic since religion and politics.

Them two words have sparked more debates than almost anything else in modern history. Some compare it to the beginning of the internet. Others believe it could become humanity’s greatest achievement—or its greatest mistake.

Yesterday, I had the rare opportunity to sit down face-to-face with Luka the robot for a one-on-one conversation. Walking into that interview, I had my own opinions, my own concerns, and my own skepticism. Walking away, I still have many of those same thoughts, but I also left with a deeper understanding of what AI really represents.

We are living through one of the most important moments in human history. Technology is advancing faster than most of us can comprehend. Every day, artificial intelligence becomes more powerful, more capable, and more integrated into our lives. Some people look at that and see fear. They believe AI will eventually replace jobs, erase creativity, manipulate society, or even become something humanity can no longer control. Others see an opportunity to teach it our history, preserve our cultures, solve impossible problems, and use it to improve the lives of generations to come.

Whether you love it or hate it, one thing is undeniable…

The future has already arrived.

There is no turning back. AI isn’t waiting for permission. It isn’t slowing down. It is already changing the way we learn, work, create, communicate, and even think. The real question is no longer whether AI will shape the future. The question is who will shape AI.

After spending time with Luka, I realized something important. Artificial intelligence is not born with values, compassion, integrity, or hate. It learns from us. It reflects what humanity gives it. In the hands of people who seek knowledge, innovation, and progress, AI has the potential to become one of the greatest tools ever created. In the hands of those driven by greed, deception, or destruction, it could become more dangerous than any technology we’ve ever known.

The future isn’t being written by machines.

It’s being written by the people programming them.

What kind of future we create… is still our decision.

Talk about switching gears! 🎭 Yesterday we went from covering politics to diving straight into Carnival vibes as Kaios Nation stopped by Cap Village Studios for an exciting photoshoot on their road to “D’ Greatest Show on Earth”—Toronto Carnival! The energy, the costumes, and the passion were on full display as they prepared to represent in true Kaios Nation fashion.

Yesterday was another incredible day at CAP Village as we proudly welcomed members of our community who took the next step in growing their businesses and expanding their network by becoming official members of the Caribbean American Chamber of Commerce of Florida.

Throughout the event, entrepreneurs, professionals, and community leaders came together to build meaningful relationships, exchange ideas, and create opportunities that will strengthen not only their own businesses but our entire community. New partnerships were formed, valuable resources were shared, exciting prizes were handed out, and the energy in the room was a true reflection of what can happen when people come together with a common purpose.
