Second at the North American 70.3 Championships!

I’m proud of this one. I came here wanting to put together an effort I could be proud of, and I did the best race I had on the day. My man Trevor Foley was simply stronger this time. I also wanted to make sure my curse of getting passed in the final stretch and was able to finish strong holding off Jason West

It feels like almost every race I’m in right now turns into an absolute battle. Not just racing, but truly being pushed to the edge by someone else who is also giving everything they have. That is what makes this sport so special.

For nearly the whole race, we were side by side, both asking more and more of ourselves. That is the thrill. Getting pushed to your limit. Finding out what you are made of. Sharing that battle with another athlete who is doing the same.

As the level of the sport keeps rising, these podiums are more and more special: I am working hard to move away from a win is a success anything else is a failure mindset.

I’ve been working incredibly hard on my run this year, and I know that breakthrough is coming. These races are building me. The hard battles, the close finishes, the lessons, the fatigue, all of it.

Life has felt full lately. Honestly, a little tiring at times. But I’m trying to stay present, enjoy every part of this journey, and appreciate how special it is to be racing at the front with the best in the world.

At this point, I think I’d rather have an epic battle and finish second than cruise to an easy win.
