*Ta**us’s mom is a pure wild (-a.tigrinum) Ambystoma Mexicanum. This means that she doesn’t have any tiger salamander in the ancestry and comes from a colony of pre-1975 Ambystoma Mexicanum. This is very rare, as nearly all axolotls in the US originated from a lab where Tiger salamander DNA was introduced. All of Ta**us’s offspring will therefore be 1/4 PURE wild.

**Axolotls depend upon us to keep them going. This is a special opportunity to strengthen the captive Axolotl line by bringing back some original ‘Tiger salamander-free’ DNA.
