The Local Beachcomber
Colorful sea glass art for beach lovers everywhere

Hi from Maine 🌲🌊
I’m spending the week exploring the Atlantic Ocean and Maine coastline with my sister and best friend. The beaches here are so different from the ones back home, and it’s made me appreciate the unique beauty each place holds. I haven’t dipped into the water yet, but I’m hoping for a bit of sunshine tomorrow before we head back to Boston.🤞

Hey Gullfriends!
One of my favorite days is coming up- California Coastal Cleanup Day 🎉
Some of you know this, but cleaning up our beaches is a huge part of my relationship with the ocean. In fact my beachcombing journey started while I was doing beach cleanups on my own and found sea glass.
That’s why I’m so excited to host this years cleanup at Lovers Point in Pacific Grove.
We’ll have buckets, trash bags, and some gloves. All you need to bring is yourself (and gloves if you have them).
I hope to sea you there! We can all make a difference once step at a time.
Will I you join me?

At first glance, I was bummed when I came across this kelp fastened with a zip tie.
But then I noticed it looked like it secured *on purpose*, and it got me thinking—what if?
I asked and , my two phycology friends, and they both said it’s probably part of a restoration effort. Maybe the Giant Kelp Restoration project? Maybe from another group.
Either way, it wasn’t trash after all—just a small sign that people are trying. Faith in humanity: restored. ✅
