Wise words from my mentor:

I rode my horses on a simple bridle with a jointed snaffle and without any mechanical gimmicks. No standing or running martingales. No double bridles, no tie downs, simply nothing more than a rider. Yet, I had absolute control over our performance. How did I control a strong event horse that was fed 34 pounds of oats a day with Herculean strength? Did he pull out my arms? No, my horses were on the aids in lightness.
