Kota was born with about a 1 inch stub for a tail. In a litter of 5 kittens, only 1 had a full tail.
While this can cause health problems related to spinal issues, in most cases it's just fine.
​Tailless cats often develop very powerful hindquarters to compensate for the lack of a counterweight. They can actually be better jumpers than cats with long tails.
​Since they can’t "thump" or "flick" a tail to show mood, they usually become more vocal or use their ears and body posture more expressively to tell you how they’re feeling!
