ACA Marketplace plans are going to be offering a better benefit this year with far more cost controls with copays assigned to more services. Health Insurance Scam: I recently had two customers fall into a terrible mess when they trusted a Facebook & YouTube ad that said they could call and see if they qualified for lower cost health insurance plus help with the cost of utilities and food. When they called they didn't realize the scammer was submitting a Medicaid application for people they know won't qualify. With the Medicaid denial letter, a special enrollment period opened with Obamacare and the agents enrolled them in plans with Ambetter. When they were notified that their plans had been changed and saw what had happened, they called me. Neither person could tell me who the agents were or how to get back in touch with them. Fraud reports had to be placed with the Marketplace. Both are resolved after hours on the phone. The agent license numbers were both obtained from the applications and are being submitted for an investigation. Both agents are located in South Florida. Medicare enrollment and plan changes begin on Oct 15. Individuals not provided insurance by their employer start enrollment Nov 1.
