Eta made landfall on Lower Matecumbe Key in the Florida Keys Sunday night as a strong tropical storm with maximum winds estimated to be near 65 mph.

The tropical depression in the gulf (the one closer to Florida) has been upgraded to a tropical storm (Laura) this is the earliest in the season to ever have an L storm (thanks 2020). Laura is headed for Florida so make sure that you are staying vigilant and watching to see where this storm is going. While there is a chance that this storm might not hit here, it's a good idea to prepare as if it will be. Laura is predicted to be in our area on Tuesday in the early morning with winds up to 75 mph. When preparing don't forget to check your insurance coverages.
