What an incredible day! Someone gave us tickets so, yeah, we spent the bluebird day skiing in the warmest conditions I’ve experienced on the hill in years.

Did some high-quality talking myself into this run today. The problem was: I wanted to run in the spring and it is still winter! But the light is so good, and there were moments that the sun felt so nice, even in those 20°ish conditions.

Tiny person — big place. This is our playground, and there’s something comforting about …. Hopeful? … about seeing yourself in context like this. That hey, does whatever it is really matter when this is in the world? When you are this when placed in the middle of it all? That perspective makes me feel lighter.

I’ve been thinking about advice to really take time for big and little adventures. A little adventure for me is something that takes a little bit of effort and is just far enough out of my normal routine to feel special. Today it meant stopping the churn to admit that, yes, I did have time to drive down the road, take advantage of today’s snow storm, and ski through town for a magical 30 minutes.

Absolute trail perfection on a sunny and spring-like day in January. JANUARY. You gotta know winter will be back, so just keep that in mind. But wooooo today was nice!
